PQAT

The PQAT laboratory is a unit of the Chemical Engineering Department of the Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS), Universitat Ramon Llull (URL). Recently it has founded  the Interdisciplinary Research Group "Safety" (GRI-"S") in collaboration with groups from the Analytical Chemistry Department and from the Faculty of Economy, both of the IQS, URL.

The main focus of the PQAT group are Chemical Reaction Engineering and Safety of Chemical Processes. Special attention is paid to Fine Chemicals and Fine Chemistry. The PQAT group is coordinating the thematic network HarsNet of the Industrial and Materials Technologies Programme of the European Commission.

Facilities:

  • 250 m2 of laboratories and pilot plants.

  • Reaction Calorimetry.

  • Thermal Analysis (DSC and TGA).

  • Adiabatic Calorimetry.

  • Laser Doppler Anemometry

  • .Bench and medium scale synthesis facilities.

  • 50 L pilot plant (glass).

  • High pressure reactors (up to 4 L, 350ºC and 350 bar; stainless steel).
